In the memorable year of 863 Constantine and Methodius from Thessalonica brought a new writing for the Slavs, so that they could better recieve and understand the Christian teachings - the Glagolic alphabet using the small letters from the Greek alphabet consisted of 43 letters.Together with their new helpers, they preached the true faith to the ordinary people and taught them how to read and write in their new language.
